Edge Binding Return Conveyor System for Furniture Manufacturers
A furniture manufacturer based in Nagpur city asked us to reduce and ease out laborious work and increase the speed of edge binding. When edge binding is to be done for a piece of wood, it needs to be done on all 4 edges of the wood piece.
The Challenge
For small pieces, this is easy. But for a piece the size of a door, it needs to be held by 2 persons, making it very tedious work. So the customer wanted the piece to return to the operator easily.
Our Solution
It was done using a pneumatic cylinder and a transfer mechanism. The system receives the piece from the machine and transfers it to a return path. The orientation of the piece is changed during this process, so it comes back to the operator ready for the next edge.
